Larissa & Tommy Wedding - Warwick Long Bay, Bermuda
Larissa and Tommy knew from the moment they meat that they were meant for each other. They felt as if they had been missing their other half until that night. In those first hours of talking, they were amazed at how much they both had in common. They were both jet engine mechanics and were passionate about their families and their hobbies, be it dirt bikes, motorcycles, snowboarding, fishing, kayaking, and pretty much anything outdoorsy. They realised they had the same sense of humour, the same interests, the same goals, the same morals and beliefs. And what they found more amazing was that through a series of decisions they each made separately in their lives, they were brought together.
Larissa's mum, Jani, walked her down the aisle of Warwick Long Bay. Bermuda was an obvious choice for the pair, despite never having visited the island before. They wanted somewhere beautiful and romantic (tick, tick) and they wanted the wedding to reflect them as a couple - they wanted it pure and simple and relaxed, with nothing stuffy or too formal.
The couple would have loved to share their special day with all of their close family and friends, but they had them in their hearts. They were lucky enough to share their wedding day with some intimate family and friends.
As always, Pastor Smith gave an intimate and meaningful service which was just in keeping with the couple's wishes.
Larissa and Tommy were able to spend a few moments alone after their ceremony to drink in their beautiful surroundings and the feeling of being newlyweds. The couple shared that they have been through plenty of hurdles over the last eight years, including deployments away from each other to Iraq and Afghanistan, living apart during their time in the Air Force. But they have finally bought a home together and although in their hearts they were married years ago, this year was the perfect time to make it official.
Larissa has such a natural easy beauty. When choosing her dress, she opted for the one that weighed the least and was simple and not too over done. A classic flowy beach dress by Alyce Designers was all it took, with flip flops kicked off to make thisgirl comfortable enough to eat, dance and breathe, yet still look stunningly beautiful. She was advised to come in for a pre-wedding appointment for her hair and makeup, but Larissa just showed up on the day with a big bouquet of flowers that she wanted in her hair and gave Fannon at Strands free reign to make her a fabulous bride. With minimal direction, Fannon exceeded anything Larissa had expected and she was thrilled.
Larissa grew up in Ohio and Tommy in Maryland. The pair had both enlisted in the US Air Force and were sent to a base in North Carolina which is where they met. Tommy proposed to Larissa while they were visiting her family for Christmas. They were nestled in their favourite little bed and breakfast winery, which they had made their tradition every time they went to Ohio. While a blizzard raged outside, the two were snuggled up together by the fire sipping wine and talking deep into the night. Tommy had been planning to pop the question for months but has wanted to wait to ask Larissa's father for permission in person so he knew their little b&b would be the perfect spot.
Larissa and Tommy - thank you for asking me to document your special day, and especially your love - you are beautiful - inside and out. xxx
