Emily & Tiger - Cambridge Beaches, Bermuda Wedding

On Emily and Tiger's journey to Bermuda, their flight out of Boston was cancelled. They couple booked another ridiculously expensive flight thinking that they were going to miss their wedding if they didn't go with another airline. That fight ended up being delayed four hours in Boston and they missed their connecting flight in New York. The pair had to spend the night at JFK airport and were then flown to Miami with a five hour layover. Instead of taking less than two house, it wasn't until 40 hours later that they two finally arrived in Bermuda, the night before their wedding festivities began. Once they arrived on the island, it began to rain for the first time in over a month. Of course all the locals were over the moon, bit poor Emily and Tiger were very concerned that it was going to rain on their wedding day and all their plans would not be quite the same. The entire night before the wedding, it poured with rain and the morning of the wedding, it remained cloudy with threatening showers. But as the time of the ceremony drew near, the cloud cover lifted and it turned into a glorious afternoon. They had the perfect evening and sunset and it couldn't have been more beautiful.

Emily's dress was a custom fit Augusta Jones gown with an altered neckline.

Emily's something old was her pear necklace, which was given to her when she graduated from high school. She something borrowed were the pearl earrings, loaned by her mother. Something new was her dress and fun Kate Spade flats, and her something blue was a sweet handmade starfish with blue rhinestones and pearls from Chastity, one of Emily's bridesmaids, and which she pinned onto her bouquet.

Emily and Tiger's ceremony was at Turtle Cove, one of the sweet little beaches on the west side of the property at Cambridge Beaches. The tide was coming in to high point and so the chairs and service had to be rearranged to accommodate the rising waters. It was beautiful and fun and definitely will be a conversation piece for years to come when the couple retells the story of their wedding as the occasional wave lapped at the couple's and guests' feet during the service and the bridal party had to reposition themselves at the cliff wall.

After the ceremony, the wedding guests proceeded to the eastern side of the hotel where cocktails and dinner were held at Shutters. The couple had never even been to Cambridge Beaches before but the whole event was meticulously planned by Nadja, who is the event coordinator. Emily and her family had been to Bermuda many times as she was growing up, but they had always stayed at Willow Bank. Since it has closed, they searched for other hotel options that had a similar feel in Sandy's Parish. The couple ultimately chose Cambridge Beaches, in large part due to Nadja who was so helpful from the very first day they were in touch.

I loved that Tiger and his groomsmen wore the traditional Bermuda shorts and knee high socks.

Love these pics with the view of the beach where they were married in the background.

Emily and Tiger's first dance song was "Without You" by Keith Urban. He is one of their favourite artists and they chose that song in particular because Tiger works really long hours and is not always around, but they both know that even though they may not always see each other, life would mean nothing without having each other at the end of the day.

The pasty chef at Cambridge Beaches made the fun seaside inspired cake. Emily chose turquoise and coral as they are two of her favourite colours and they thought it would match the Bermuda backdrop well. The theme of the wedding was starfish as Emily was always fascinated with the sweet little sea creatures growing up on Cape Cod. They also thought that their ability to regrow severed limbs was quite fitting given the fact that Tiger is an orthopedic surgeon.

When Tiger and Emily look back on their lives and all the things that needed to happened for them to meet, fall in love, and have their wedding at Cambridge Beaches, they both feel that it was fate that brought them together. Sometimes in life, the best things that happen are the least expected. They both feel very grateful to have met each other and to start their lives together as one family family, including their goldendoodle puppy, Toby! Wishing you much happiness in the future! xxx
