Marissa & Jason - Engagement Session - Tucker's Point, Bermuda

Jason and Marissa fell in love almost instantly after bonding over summers on the Cape in Massachusetts, boating and fishing. They took their first holiday together to Bermuda and just adored the island. Marissa had visiting Bermuda as a child with her family for their first big family holiday so it already held special meaning to her, but it has since become the couple's special vacation spot so when they became engaged, they knew it would be the perfect place to get married. On a trip to plan the wedding, the two decided an engagement session was a must. They loved the idea of shooting around the Tucker's Point property where they will have their wedding next year, but the boat was the best part of the shoot, for they are big boaters back home and love to fish together so it just fit the couple and their love like a well done sum.

Jason popped the question on Christmas Eve of last year, which happens to be Marissa's favourite holiday. He proposed to his love at his favourite location on a beautiful pond across from his childhood home.

Since Marissa and Jason will be having an intimate wedding ceremony on the beach next summer, they decided to only shoot around the hotel property and on the boat, and save the sand and surf for the next time we get together when they tie the knot!

Marissa's sister, Niki, is the reason the wedding is happening. Nicole's boyfriend, Matt, was friends with Jason at work, and Niki suggested that her sister and Jason meet. Marissa and Jason have been together since that first date in April, 2007.

Marissa arranged with Tucker's Point Dive and Watersports for the dinghy to be brought to the beach for the shoot. Although it was plastic, I brought some blankets and pillows to make it a little more romantic and comfortable for the love birds.

I can't remember where this rod came from - I have a feeling the couple brought it from home to make the shoot more personal to them - how cute!

Thank you Marissa and Jason for being so adorable together - it was such fun exploring the hotel property with you and I loved that you two were so open to all my ideas - I think it was definitely worth it as am so smitten with the results - you two are so wonderful together and I can't wait to capture your wedding day next summer - love to you both xxxx
