Nowell Family

The Nowells are leaving Bermuda so they wanted to take back some tangible memories of Bermuda for their children. The kids are at such adorable ages for a time freeze snap shot too - Joshua just on the cusp of becoming a boy from a toddler, and Ethan with enough squidginess to make him still a baby, walking and talking his way into toddlerhood.

Sweet little Ethan had become a bit frightened of the sea in the last couple of weeks, so as we grew closer to the water, the more concerned he became. But he was a great sport and allowed us to re-enact some of the things he had enjoyed at the beach just weeks before. A bit of swinging and we were able to get the beautiful Bermuda water in the background with Ethan.

Joshua on the other hand could not keep away.

My favourite shot of the day.

Bernens Family

There were a few hiccups in getting the Bernens family shoot to happen, but the day that we all finally connected was one of those rare spring days that offered cloudless skies, crispy light and varied colours for backdrops. And on top of the elements working so perfectly in my favour, the kids were a dream to work with - I was in heaven.

Liam's gentle cuddle with Isla soon became more of a tight squeeze!

De Frias Family Maternity Session

I photographed Susanne and Dennis when Sergio was in the belly 3 years ago. Click here to see that shoot. Back then, I did maternity sessions outside at nighttime and it was all very homemade (and cold in the winter) but Susanne looked like a Grecian goddess with the flowing fabric she wore blowing in the wind. For this pregnancy, they wanted something different, so they decided to do the combination my home studio offers of garden, black backdrop, and my dreamy bed and sofas. It was such fun with all the different looks we created in just one location.

I love hearing how expecting parents speak to their children about a baby growing in the mother's tummy. Sergio knew he was having a sister and was adorably nurturing and excited about her pending arrival.

And as always, I simply can't resist taking a snap of the little one on his own, even if it is officially a maternity session.

Bianca & JP Maternity Session

Bianca was torn about what backdrop to choose for her pregnancy shoot, but finally decided on a beach with lots of foliage rather than something indoors. She had seen some pregnancy photos on my website where the bay grapes were in autumnal colours, but I couldn't remember what time of year the photos were taken. JP and Bianca opted for the beach anyway, despite the possibility that the leaves would all be green. But they were thrilled to see the colours changing just in time - perhaps she had planned her pregnancy around Bermuda's spring colours, although not that surprising I couldn't remember when the leaves fell considering it is spring, not autumn.

Vallee Family

The Vallee Family booked me last year while they were visiting Bermuda and it was a dark stormy day at the beach, but because they were only here for a short time, we went ahead. The photos turned out fun and dramatic. This year when they visited, it was again a bit windy and grey on the day we booked but, despite the sun not peeking through, we had a blast in the Botanical Gardens, where there is so much to explore for the kids.
