Ale & Natalia in the Freesias
I had asked my friend, Sarah, if I could use the freesias in her garden to shoot my kids for their annual shot together, but once I had finished with my two, I suggested I capture her girls in the same spot since the light was still so gorgeous. We ran up to the house to choose some dresses for her girls to wear and it was all very last minute with not even time to brush hair, but that is the amazing thing about children - two minutes and they look divine!! I hadn't shot Natalia and Ale together since their family shoot, which was so long ago and they have changed so much. Recently, I had photographed Natalia with my daughter when they had a sleep over, but I wanted to capture little Ale on her own to make things even and fair, so I had her sit on her own in the flowers for a few shots.

Peter & Salty
Peter and Salty are the best of friends so their mama bear wanted to capture the sweetness of her boy and his pup. The shoot was chaos and I was sure we didn't have a single shot they could use, yet to my surprise, I couldn't narrow them down I loved so many! Lucky boy Peter - enjoy Salty - you two are darling together. xxx
I know Salty's eyes are closed in the one below, but Peter looked so gorgeous, I had to include it and I sort of think Salty looks comic with his eyes in a cartoony squint shut.
Poor Peter - Salty has sharp little puppy teeth and in their playing, he did sink his little milk teeth right into Peter's chin - I thought the shoot was over for a moment, but Peter was a trooper and recovered quickly.
Love both of these versions so had to include bw and colour.
Peter plays the piano so it was perfect to use our piano innards that are sadly sitting outside our house while we try to figure out what to do with them. They weigh a tonne but look sort of cool on our back patio!

Loreesa, Dejean & Kailyn
Loreesa, Dejean and Kailyn are a very close family and wanted to not only capture their joy and happiness, but also be able to share it with others through photos. They realise that photos have the ability to capture a moment in time which will live on forever. Loreesa knows that one day, Kailyn will one day be olde enough to walk her own path, however, they want to ensure that she always remains grounded to her roots.
Kailyn is such a happy baby and is always laughing and smiling. Her parents wanted to capture her sweet little character.
I swooned when Loreesa and Dejean carried this delicious rocking horse from their car. It is in Kailyn's nursery but Loreesa loves how it is historically significant in that horses have played an important role in history and have led men in armies dating back to ancient times. Her parents' hope that one day, Kailyn will be a leader in her own right and achieve much greatness.
Loreesa plays the violin so I loved how she brought her instrument to the shoot and incorporated it in the photos to make them more meaningful. I could cry the way it looks like Kailyn is reaching out to her mother's music in this photo below.
Loreesa, Dejean and Kailyn - it was a pleasure meeting you all and I was honoured to capture the love your sweet family shares. Much love to you xx
