Indigo

Last Friday, Indigo's darling friend, Natalia, slept over. I tied rags in their hair so that when they woke the next morning, they would have ringlets. I am not a pro at this by any means so I missed bits and they went in all directions, but the girls were thrilled so I promised to do a photoshoot for them. As soon as they had finished their breakfast, they had changed into these darling tutu dresses and had chosen their hairbands. 

I already posted Natalia's photos as a surprise for her fab mama bear, who is a dear friend of mine as well. But Indigo wanted to see what her pics came out like so thought I would share them too.

Natalia

This little angel bug is Natalia. Not only is she just the most deliciously beautiful little girl, but she is also the sweetest little sausage around, and one of my daughter, Indigo's besties in the whole world. Last Friday, she slept over and the girls slept in rag curls. So the next morning, we decided a photo session was in order to capture the ringlets. 

You may recognise Natalia from her family session three years ago, but she has grown up a lot since then. Big girl teeth now and everything!

Natalia just had her hair cut in a bob last week so the rags in the back did not hold all night, but the ones in the front did, and because she already has naturally wavy hair, they held so well in the front, but didn't look odd as the back was curly too.

Natalia borrowed one of Indigo's beloved tutu dresses which are made for photo shoots, and the girls had a blast trying my hair bands, props and necklaces.

Thank you Natalia for being such a star model - what a fun way to spend a Saturday morning. Best sleep over ever! We love you. xxxx

Loreesa, Dejean & Kailyn

Loreesa, Dejean and Kailyn are a very close family and wanted to not only capture their joy and happiness, but also be able to share it with others through photos. They realise that photos have the ability to capture a moment in time which will live on forever. Loreesa knows that one day, Kailyn will one day be olde enough to walk her own path, however, they want to ensure that she always remains grounded to her roots.

Kailyn is such a happy baby and is always laughing and smiling. Her parents wanted to capture her sweet little character.

I swooned when Loreesa and Dejean carried this delicious rocking horse from their car. It is in Kailyn's nursery but Loreesa loves how it is historically significant in that horses have played an important role in history and have led men in armies dating back to ancient times. Her parents' hope that one day, Kailyn will be a leader in her own right and achieve much greatness.

Loreesa plays the violin so I loved how she brought her instrument to the shoot and incorporated it in the photos to make them more meaningful. I could cry the way it looks like Kailyn is reaching out to her mother's music in this photo below.

Rebecca, Nigel, India, Sebastian & Tilly

Rebecca and Nigel were celebrating their twentieth wedding anniversary and were keen to capture this momentous occasion with a photo shoot. Having started out just two youngsters themselves 20 years ago, they are now a family of five!

I love that Rebecca is wearing the same dress to her 20th anniversary party that she wore to her tenth.

You may recognise these three from one of my workshops a few years ago - really makes me realise how much they have grown!

India's boyfriend, Charlie, was visiting in the summer so they thought it would be nice to include him some of the photos.
